Privacy Policy

Cloudless is a quit-vaping app. This policy describes exactly what data the app
handles and where it goes. Short version: your data lives on your phone and in a
private cloud backup tied to your own account. We run no ads and never sell data.
We use privacy-respecting product analytics to understand which features help
people quit, described below.
What we collect
To personalize your quit plan and track progress, the app stores:
- Your quiz answers and quit profile: vaping habits (device type,
nicotine strength, puffs per day, spend, years vaping, triggers, past quit
attempts), your computed dependence score, and your chosen plan.
- Progress data: quit date, streaks, banked days, slips and their
triggers, cravings beaten, daily mood check-ins, taper puff logs, lesson
progress and lesson answers, XP, savings goal, and money-saved figures.
- Personal details you choose to add: your first name, and — only
if you create a sync account — your email address.
- Feedback you type into the improvement prompt.
Where it lives
- On your phone — always. The app works fully offline.
- Private cloud backup — with an active membership, the app backs the
data above up to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, EU region), tied to an
account created automatically for you (anonymous) or upgraded with your email.
Access rules ensure only your signed-in account can read or write your data.
Product analytics
To see which features actually help people quit (and which confuse them), the
app sends usage events to PostHog, hosted in the EU. Examples: "onboarding
completed", "SOS opened", "craving beaten", "purchase started".
- Events are tied to a random install identifier, and to your sync account id
if you have one — not to your name.
- Event data is used only to improve Cloudless. It is never used for
advertising, never sold, and never shared beyond our analytics processor.
- The contents of what you type (names, feedback, lesson answers) are not
included in analytics events.
- Deleting your account (below) also covers analytics: email us and we remove
events linked to your identifiers.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Google Play; we never see
your payment details. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage
subscription status; RevenueCat receives your purchase token and an app user id,
not your name or health data.
What we don't do
- No advertising or ad SDKs, and no use of your data for ads — anywhere.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No public profiles: nothing you log is visible to anyone but you.
Deleting your data
You can erase everything yourself, in the app, at any time:
- You tab → Sync → Delete account & erase everything removes your
cloud backup, your sync account, and the data on your phone.
- You tab → Reset everything wipes the phone and the cloud backup and
starts you over.

Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Your rights
Backup data is stored in the EU. You can access everything the app holds (it is
all visible in the app) and delete it all with the tools above. For any privacy
request the tools don't cover — including removal of analytics events linked to
your identifiers — email us and we will handle it within 30 days.
Children
Cloudless is for adults quitting nicotine and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will point to the updated version
before the change takes effect.
